Following up on yesterday's question of the day: turns out 1 km was a fine distance to be from the event. We neither saw nor heard any signs of anything out of the ordinary last night, and there were empty parking spaces within fifty steps of my front door all evening. The video I've seen on the web shows a pretty good sized crowd in Davis Square proper, but also a pretty calm and well-managed crowd.
