I am a relay station

- Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning
- This is seriously scary, and if you you ever go anywhere near the water, you should read it. I grew up on the water and this was all news to me. To think that a parent — a sensible, responsible parent — could be within feet of a drowning child and not notice sent chills down my spine.
- Today's xkcd

- 256 years old and going strong. I especially recommend their RSA Animate series of illustrated talks. (Which remind me of something I wrote back in 1995, on my first web job, when someone at HBS decided a great way to use this web thingy would be to put up talking-head videos of lectures. I wrote a memo arguing that it would both be a better use of bandwidth (those were dialup days, remember) and better information design (though I don't think I knew that term yet, or even if it existed) to instead do (essentially) slide shows. RSA Animate is that same basic idea, with a far better implementation than I could ever come up with. )
