Today was a good day. I got in two lovely walks, the first ending at near this brave little crocus:



For those of you not in the Boston area: This is not an April fool's joke: I really did take that picture this morning. (Well, I suppose it might actually be an April fool's joke — one perpetrated by the gods on us in New England.)

That's beautiful. I read somewhere that plants give off just enough heat to melt a little snow and this is the best photo I've seen to illustrate that.
