I've never identified as "goth", though having played in the SCA for twenty-some years and dressed almost entirely in black for more than ten, I've long thought of myself as goth-ish. Or maybe pre-goth. Which makes this especially funny.

Your Score: Mister Rogers!

Our test has determined that you possess
20% Hellbentness, 15% Sanguinity, and 27% Creeps!
Well done!

Well! It looks like maybe your inner goth isn't quite in full bloom yet. Our wonderful test has equated you with Fred Rogers, known to generations of young television viewers as Mister Rogers, a kind, gentle soul.

You know, you don't have to look like everybody else to be acceptable and to feel acceptable.? - Mister Rogers.

(I was especially amused by question 9: 9. Which of the following seems most likely to be the cause of your demise?, with the first option being I don't know. Maybe a heart attack, stroke, cancer, that sort of thing.. Which I selected, even though I've survived two out of three so far.

In celebration of two whole years of being not dead yet, I will host brunch at my place on Saturday, August 25 (two years and one day after my release from the hospital), starting at 10:00 a.m. Come by, hang out, help me celebrate what all involved tell me is a remarkable recovery. There will be pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham, and of course coffee [edit: And Scones!]*. If you'd like to bring something, that would be nice but by no means necessary; juice, fruit, and baked goods will be especially welcome. Someone who both likes and is good at the various things people do with eggs and a skillet (an area where my skills are at best remedial) would be welcome to take over a corner of the kitchen and practice their craft.

Please feel free to pass this announcement along to anyone you think may be interested. If you don't know where I live these days (which is most of you), send me mail for directions. If you do know where I live, please send me mail or leave a comment here to let me know you're coming; it will help me plan.

*  Those of you who remember Zocalo brunches will note that I did not mention scones. Improbable though this may seem, my Kitchanaid mixer has successfully hidden itself in storage. I will make one more effort to find it in the next two weeks, and if I do there will be scones. But I'm not going to let its disappearance keep me from hosting a brunch any longer. Coraline has generously offered to lend me her Kitchenaid, so there will be scones whether or not I can find mine!
