Short form: I just realized that I've left the house without arranging to get back in. So, if you can spare 10 minutes in Arlington pretty much any time between 13:00 and 20:00, please let me know. I expect to check comments here and my MIT email sometime between 10:00 and 12:00.

Long form: I'm seeing my surgeon's PA at 08:30. [livejournal.com profile] nuclearpolymer kindly offered to stop by on her way to work to help me get down the stairs. And having arranged that, I entirely spaced arranging for someone to help me get back up to my front porch later. Oops.

Please let me know by commenting here or sending me email at MIT if you can help, and what time.
(If you haven't been following along, the help I require is dead simple, and doesn't require, e.g., physically supporting me. Mostly just carrying my walker up the porch stairs while I make my way with a crutch and the handrail.)

Early afternoon would probably be best, but if you can only come by after work, that's fine too. The main thing I need is a plan.

I'll reply to any and all offers after they're done poking-and-prodding, so probably somewhere between 10:00 and 12:00. (I'd like to go in to the office after, but I suspect this examination to involve getting into some painful poses for X-rays, and I know from experience that that can take a lot out of me. So in a perfect world, you kind people will have sent me offers toward each end of my 13:00 to 20:00 time window.)

Thanks in advance!

I'm now cleared to be fully weight bearing on my left leg "as tolerated." Between contortions for X-rays and walking rather a lot in my walker (walking in a walker is a lot more tiring than I'd have ever imagined), I'm pretty wiped. Sweettea kindly agreed to swing by at 12:30 to help me with the front porch stairs. For what may well be the last time: I expect PT tomorrow will focus on walking with crutches, which I've done before, and on getting myself up and down stairs without needing someone else to carry anything. I think there's a fair chance I'll cleared to solo on the stairs by the end of that session; certainly within a week.

There is of course a lot more to do before I'm back to anything like normal. Still, my general mood right now is pretty happy. Just maybe a little too tired and sore to fully enjoy it....
