It's been almost two months since I posted at all, and two months to the day since I posted about being finally cleared to be weight-bearing on my left leg. I've started posts a half-dozen times in those two months, but always got bogged down. And bogged down is a pretty good summary of how these past two months have felt.

Physically, my therapists and doctors all tell me I'm making good progress. Emotionally, it's been one thing after another. I'm not going to go into details — not least because the details are what all those previous drafts got mired in. But I've been feeling so stressed and lousy that it's been more than a month since I tried to write anything, or even read LJ or Facebook.

I finally remembered this evening that withdrawing into my shell only ever makes me feel worse. So this is me sticking my head out.
