Some time later, in the bathroom for other reasons, the process causes your right hand to open the medicine cabinet and grab a bottle of pink liquid. Right hand transfers bottle to left hand, and removes cap. Left hand raises the bottle toward your mouth....
Luckily, at this point our metaphor falls apart (or I get tired of it, at any rate). Also luckily, at this point in our story you realize the bottle you're holding is calamine lotion, not pepto-bismol.
