lj annoyance

One thing LJ does that fucking annoys me is, when the number of comments on a post gets large, it will hide parts of threads, requiring me to click on them in order to see them. So for a long and interesting discussion, I'm constantly clicking, reading, hitting the back button, finding my place on the original page, repeat. Why they think this is a feature is beyond me. Does anyone know of some secret setting that will tell LJ "Just show me the replies and all subthreads, to infinite depth, on one page"?

Actually, LJ is in the process of rolling out a feature (possibly only for paid accounts?) that puts an "Expand thread" link on collapsed threads. Hasn't hit all layouts yet.

I have a permanent account, which should get me all the paid account features. Can you give any clues how to find a layout that supports this?

And, until then, there's a Greasemonkey plugin for Firefox that does the same thing (and a bunch of other things as well).

yeah, I hate that too. even more so because I often end up clicking the person's name, not the comment thread....ugh.
