I have never outgrown my childhood love of swings. In my teens and 20s I spent a fair number of weekends in Portland, Oregon, whose city parks all featured big, sturdy steel-pipe swings that must have been fifteen or twenty feet high.

Does anyone know of any such thing anywhere in the Boston area? The best I know of is a swingset in Lexington, that's sturdy enough but only about 12 feet high.

Thanks in advance!

What about the tire swing at Senior Haus? (Heck, many of your friends are engineers - why don't you have them build you one for your birthday or something?)

A tire swing is a different kind of thrill, and it's hard to tire-swing side-by-side with a special someone.

Both my engineering and my fabrication skills are sufficient to the task of building a heavy-duty swingset for myself. What I lack is a place to put one.

I didn't know that swings came in a larger size.

In an effort to help, I started googling around for 20-foot swings, adult-sized swings, adult swinger clubs...

I'm going to stop trying to help from work now.
