I don't suppose someone has an unused refrigerator (even an old dorm fridge) sitting around that I could borrow? For, presumably, a week or so, though I cannot make any promises.... Or maybe you have some unused space in the chest freezer in your basement that you'd be willing to let me use for a week or two?

The latest in the moving-into-a-house-while-the-remodeling-is-still-ongoing saga (which I have mostly spared you) is there there will probably not be a working refrigerator when I move in. (Note the lack of certainty. There is a similar lack of certainty around such questions as When can I assume there will be a working refrigerator?, as well as many others.) If I had known this two weeks ago, i could have planned for it, by eating my frozen food and not buying refrigerated food. But two weeks ago I was still under the delusion that the house was going to be ready to move in to, with perhaps a little minor trim work still to be done, by day before yesterday.

My current plan, such as it is, is to not move my food tomorrow, but instead to plan on moving it first thing Thursday. Into a location to be determined.

Thanks in advance!

I thought the house had like 2-3 spare refrigerators in the basement already? Or is it the super silly thing that there are 2-3 unused refrigerators but they are all located in an inaccessible place?

I have a dorm-size fridge that you could borrow for as long as you need it.

I also have plenty of extra freezer space (the freezer that is part of our fridge is almost totally empty and could easily be totally empty) so you'd be welcome to use that.

You have no idea how much less stressed I now feel.

What works for you, logistically? Will you be home tonight?

Tonight I could be around between 8:30 and 9:30. I may be

Tomorrow morning I don't have any meetings so I could work from home until 9:30ish.

(Note: the mini-fridge worked fine the last time I used it, which I think was in February. It does take about 24 hours to cool down all the way since I don't keep it plugged in.)

I'll call first to confirm that you're home (or you can call me - 617 901 6954), but will try to drop by between 8:30 and 9:30 with stuff to put in your freezer. I'll know by then whether I need to borrow the dorm fridge or not. (Latest word is we may have a working bar fridge, but definitely won't have a working main fridge.) Thanks again!

I'll give you a call if I get back substantially before 8:30 (or I suppose if I'm going to be substantially later).

Ditto, I have 2 dorm-type small cube fridges that used to live in an office, that you could have whenever (I got them both for free, so you can have one or both...)
