If there is one person, or more, on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

In my case, though, "would not have met ... without the internet" covers an awful lot of ground. Of everyone on my friendslist, the_rookery, who I've known for 22 years, is the only one I can categorically state that is not true of: I'll have been on the 'net for 20 years as of some time this fall. Nearly everyone and everything in my life today — my friends, my sweetie, my career — is in my life as the result of a network of relations and effects that all trace back to my having gotten involved in a couple of online forums in early 1992, when I was recovering from cancer.
