I got the script for round two of physical therapy for my shoulder today. I wasn't happy with the PT I drew for my first round, so was just looking at gmaps search results --- which were missing several I know exist --- when it occurred to me that this is not how I would go about finding any other professional service.

I know that my social network extends within two hops to a variety of health-care professionals --- MDs, Nurses, Licensed Mental-Health Counsellors, Massage Therapists. Does it also extend to Physical Therapists?

I know a few people who have been happy with Joint Ventures, in Kendall (on 3rd Street).

For my knee, I've been going to Kennedy Brothers Physical Therapy at their Downtown Crossing location. I've seen them working on people with shoulder injuries; I don't know the nature of yours and whether you'd be a good match.

They are an unusually informal group of people. I like to know what the plan is and how the plan will help, and I had to set that aside for these people. I was willing to try, because other runners have gone there and sworn by them. Turns out, I'm now one of those people, too. :) If you want more info, let me know.

How far are you willing to go? I really liked MGH Sports Physical Therapy for my knee. One of Brian's friends from college is a PTA there. http://www2.massgeneral.org/sports/therapy.html
