I just got this. Maybe it's just me, but it sure feels like the bastards are going more out of their way to target vulnerable people than ever before.

Not really, right? All the Viagra ads are targeting men with sexual performance issues who feel vulnerable. This spam is now just applicable to everyone, not just men. See also dating spam.

In the last few years I've noticed a slow but steady stream of spam addressed to "fraud victims", often offering compensation or protection. Clearly they were gullible once, so why not try again?
