Just when you start to think you could maybe visit Europe next summer, you go to the dentist. And leave with a treatment plan that calls for $8000 worth of work over the next six months. Out of pocket.

Alternatively, come to Europe, where in the UK we have a reputation for bad teeth anyway.

Ouch.
On the assumption that this wasn't with Tufts Dental School, I'll mention that they are way cheaper than most dentists and the work is top notch. Only drawback is that appointments take forever because there's all this checking and doublechecking. (I did this - as a Tufts employee I get an extra discount on top of their usual cheap prices - a while back when they thought I needed an implant.)
