Depends on your neighbor. The last neighbor I discussed my work with also did computer stuff. (In fact, for a while he was working for an old SIPB alum, and later he was working at a company I had also interviewed with.) Our respective areas of expertise were different, but they overlapped a bit with things the other was doing, so we both got a few good tips out of it. :)
