Many of the women on my friends list have unimpeachable geek credentials, and very successful careers in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field. And at least three of you are currently in the process of launching a new career in a non-STEM field. I suspect you may find siderea's meta-discussion of her own transition of interest.
